Thank you to everybody who attended our sixth annual Open Farm Sunday on the 7th July. The sun shone, making the tractor and trailer rides even more enjoyable out to the orchards to pick our delicious cherries.
Thank you to Agwood, Ernest Doe and Burden Bros Agri for donating raffle prizes and congratulations to Ameria, Zoe and Artijom for winning. Erin won 5kg of cherries for guessing correctly the answers in the growing crop competition, a satisfying result, well done. The Pearson family won the large toy tractor kindly donated by Crawfords.
This year we collected money for the Oliver Fisher Special Baby Care Unit at Medway Hospital. It was lovely that some families visiting the farm introduced themselves to us as parents who had benefited from the unit when their children were born.
Thank you to Hugh & Fiona Boucher and David Butler for their wonderful donations of strawberries, gooseberries and apple juice that we sold alongside our cherries and honey on the stall.
We hope that everyone who joined us for Open Farm Sunday had a great time. Learnt something about how we farm, how their food is grown, our history, the science of farming, our commitment to the countryside and above all our passion.
We hope to see you next year at our Centenary Celebrations.
